Our partner company, IWS Integrationswerk gGmbH Westsachsen still has free places for FSJ-ler and/or federal voluntary service. The place of work is at our daycare center.

We also enjoy the white splendor... We laugh as we whiz down the mountain on our sleds and enjoy the exercise in the fresh air...
Of course, the snowman couldn't be left out either...

On 29 November, the children from the Rainbow after-school care center enriched the Christmas market in Wildenfels with a varied and atmospheric program. Despite the wintry temperatures, there was a warm, festive atmosphere on and in front of the stage - carried by enthusiasm, applause and shining children's eyes.
The individual groups proudly presented their rehearsed contributions:
Class 1 wowed the audience with an energetic hip-hop dance
Classes 2 and 3 enchanted the audience with a wonderful joint dance performance that delighted with harmonious movements and beaming faces.
Class 4 presented 3 dances to modern Christmas music, which provided some impressive moments
In between, the program items were accompanied by Erzgebirge poems, which lent the performance a traditional, contemplative note.
A big thank you goes to all the children who performed with great commitment, courage and joy, creating a special moment in the Advent season. We are proud of you!
We would also like to thank the parents for their support and for accompanying us to the performance.
We wish everyone a wonderful Advent season

On April 10, 2025, the Rainbow after-school care center got busy. Numerous parents and children joined forces to help renovate the after-school garden and give it a fresh coat of paint.
With paintbrushes, gardening tools and lots of motivation, helpers big and small got to work. Playground equipment was sanded down and painted, flower beds were tended and seating areas were repaired - the outdoor area was given an all-round successful update. The sandpit in the outdoor area was also filled in. It was particularly nice that the children also actively helped and were proud to be part of the beautification campaign.
The physical well-being was also taken care of: everyone was able to enjoy fresh drinks and delicious liver sausage and bacon fat sandwiches and chat in a relaxed atmosphere.
A big thank you to all the parents and children who made this day so special with their help and good humor. The new after-school garden is the result of real teamwork!

On April 16, Wildenfels became the happiest rally route in the region.
A wide variety of stations were prepared with great commitment and passion, which were organized and supervised with the help of local associations.
Before the start, all children and parents received a running sheet with the stations to be worked on. Classes 3 and 4 started in the castle park, while classes 1 and 2 started in the lower park. This meant that the large crowds were well distributed and the rally ran smoothly and excitingly for everyone.
During the rally, the children had an additional task: they had to count all the eggs on the grounds that had been distributed by the teachers in the morning. A great way to combine the rally with a little treasure hunt and to draw the children's attention to the surroundings.
The children received a stamp for each station they completed. Those who had collected all the stamps were finally allowed to collect their Easter nest - an attractive reward system that motivated the participants and provided additional excitement.
Around 120 children, their parents and accompanying adults took part in the rally. The weather was fantastic, the atmosphere was exuberant and you could feel the solidarity in the village at every turn.
A big thank you goes to all the helpers who contributed so much effort and dedication to making this event a highlight: the local clubs, the helpers from the fire department, the church and the MGH and of course the many parents and children who made the Easter rally an unforgettable experience.

The Easter vacation week at the Rainbow after-school care center was exciting and varied! The focus was on the continent of Asia - the children were able to discover and experience a lot!
The week started on Tuesday with an introduction to Asia. An exciting report helped the children to take a closer look at the continent and immerse themselves in the topic.
On Wednesday, everything revolved around exotic spices. The children were able to smell, taste and examine them closely - an intense experience for the senses!
Thursday was all about relaxation: during a yoga class, the children got to know different figures. This was followed by playful exercises for spatial and self-awareness. The crowning glory was a relaxing fantasy journey to the rainbow, during which the children were able to relax wonderfully.
Friday was a culinary day: the children prepared Chinese noodles together - an activity that was not only great fun, but also taught them a lot about ingredients and preparation. Carrots, peppers and spring onions were washed, peeled and chopped with great enthusiasm - a great taste experience.

It was magical at the after-school club on Children's Day! The excitement was already high after lunch - because all the children were invited to the big magic show in the gym. There we met a real magician with his mysterious box full of surprises.
From amazing card tricks to seemingly cut - and whole again - ropes and seemingly magical balls, everything was included. The children were amazed, laughed and puzzled - and not just as spectators:
Many were allowed to join in the magic themselves and bravely helped the magician - including even a kindergarten teacher who was able to perform a magic trick herself, much to the delight of the children.
As a thank you, each magic assistant received an artistically shaped balloon animal that the magician had individually designed for them - a colorful souvenir of a special day.
To top it all off, there was a sweet surprise for all the sorcerer's apprentices!

On Saturday, 21.06.2025, our Rainbow after-school care centre took part in the 875th anniversary celebrations of the Härtensdorf parish with a colorful and exciting program. The focus was on the dance performances by the children in grades 1-4, who showed off their skills on the festival stage with great enthusiasm and energy.
Preparations for the performance began several months in advance. Under the direction of Josi, the children rehearsed their choreographies with great joy, perseverance and creativity. The children presented their own, individually designed performance - the result of hard work, team spirit and genuine enthusiasm for music and movement.
Classes 1 and 2 opened the program with a dance to Lady Gaga's "Pokerface" and Queen's "We will rock you". Despite stage fright, the youngsters showed impressive coordination and a sense of rhythm and immediately got the audience in the mood.
The children from Years 3 and 4 performed a total of 7 different dances, covering a wide range of musical styles. The children wore matching clothes for each song, which emphasized the mood of the respective musical style and brought the stage design to life.
During the changeover breaks, Class 1 provided an atmospheric transition with a recital of summer poems. The children presented short poems about the sun, vacations and warm days with great joy and expressiveness - a calm, charming contrast to the energetic dance interludes.
Despite the intense heat in the marquee, the children bravely persevered and didn't let the joy of dancing be taken away from them.
The Rainbow after-school club's performance was a complete success. The children not only showed their dancing talent, but also their stamina, team spirit and self-confidence. The numerous positive responses from the audience made it clear how enthusiastically the performances were received.
As a small thank you, all the children received a certificate, jelly babies and a well-deserved ice cream - a sweet reward for their great efforts and an unforgettable day!

Our summer vacations at the Rainbow after-school care center were once again a very special time full of fun, games and exciting experiences. Together with the children, we put together a colorful 6-week program with something for everyone.
A sea of colors....
Each vacation week we focused on a different color. There were red, blue, green and yellow days, on which we made, painted, played and cooked to match. The children were able to experience how colorful the world is and how colors influence our mood.
To kick things off, we watched the movie Everything is upside down together. The children experienced how emotions are represented in different colors - a great introduction to our vacation theme.
Our trip to the puppet theater was a special highlight. The children immersed themselves in an imaginative story and were thrilled by the characters, the colorful stage sets and the exciting atmosphere.
It was also a colorful culinary experience: together, the group mixed fruity smoothies from different types of fruit. The children cut, tasted and enjoyed their healthy and colorful drinks.
Of course, there was also plenty of exercise! The children ran, romped and laughed during outdoor sports games - always accompanied by colorful cloths and small color accents.
The second vacation week was also all about colors - this time with lots of creative and exciting activities.
Making paper hats & magic
The week began creatively: the children made their own hats using colorful paper. There were also little magic tricks to go with them, which caused amazement and lots of laughter.
Our batik day was a real highlight. With fabric, paint and a little patience, we created beautiful, individual patterns that the children proudly presented.
Finally, we went out into nature. The children were able to play in the stream, collect stones and explore the water.
In the third week of the vacations, we were all about the forest and its colors. The children were able to experience, explore and be creative outdoors.
At the beginning of the week, we were allowed to visit the hunting school. There, the children learned exciting things about forest animals, their tracks and habitats. They were particularly enthusiastic about the exhibits and the stories about life in the forest.
During a treasure hunt in the forest, the children collected natural materials, solved small tasks and discovered many "green secrets". The focus was on team spirit and a sense of adventure.
Back at the after-school care center, things got horticultural: the children planted their own herb beds. With soil on their hands and curious questions about the plants, they got the beds ready - and are now looking forward to growing and harvesting.
To round off the week, the plants collected in the forest were used creatively. The children used leaves, flowers and twigs to design their own personal picture frames - each one truly unique.
At the start of the week, we visited the Güntherhof in Grünau and learned exciting things about the world of bees. The children learned why bees are so important for nature and how a beehive is constructed.
Another highlight was the trip to the post office. There, the children were able to take a look behind the scenes, marvel at parcels and learn how letters and items find their way to their recipients.
The week ended on a delicious note: we baked healthy banana and oat cookies together. From kneading the dough to tasting it, the children had lots of fun - and the homemade cookies tasted particularly good, of course.
The children were allowed to take a look behind the scenes at the new Wildenfels ambulance station. It was particularly exciting to see the inside of the ambulance and learn how paramedics help in emergencies. Many questions were asked - and patiently answered.
Another highlight was the visit to the fire department. The children learned how firefighting operations work, what equipment is needed and were even able to try out a little themselves. Their eyes lit up as they marveled at the large vehicles.
The week ended on a sporty note: Holger introduced the children to kickboxing. With lots of energy and fun, they practiced simple movements, boosted their self-confidence and had lots of fun with the exercise.
At the beginning of the week, we went on a trip to the observatory. The children learned exciting things about planets, stars and the universe. The view through the large telescope was particularly impressive.
The police also dropped by - and not only brought a lot of knowledge, but also equipment to touch. The children learned how police officers ensure safety and asked curious questions, which were patiently answered.
The absolute highlight at the end of the vacations was our Holy Party: we danced, laughed and celebrated with colorful paint powders. In the end, all the children were colorful - a perfect picture for our vacation motto "Colors".

During the fall vacations, everything at our after-school care center revolved around the topic of "healthy eating" - and how we can keep our bodies and minds fit.
We looked at the food pyramid and made one ourselves. The children learned which foods belong on their plates every day and which only occasionally.
Our experiment "How much sugar is in our food" was a realeye-opener. We used sugar cubes to illustrate how much sweetness is hidden in drinks and snacks. Many children were surprised at how much sugar there is in some foods.
Of course, we also baked diligently. We conjured up delicious cakes and muffins.
In addition to the nutrition projects, there was also plenty of exercise. In the gym, the children were able to let off steam with games, relay races and small competitions. After all, exercise is just as much a part of a healthy lifestyle as good food.
We were visited by the dentist, who explained how important dental care and a low-sugar diet are for healthy teeth. Together we practiced brushing our teeth properly and looked at exciting models. The children had lots of questions - and a beaming smile on their faces at the end.
Finally, we used an oat mill to make our own oat flakes. The children were allowed to crank it themselves and see how oat grains were turned into fresh, fragrant oat flakes. We were able to enjoy them straight away at breakfast together.
The autumn vacations at the after-school care center were colorful, educational and full of fun. We cooked, baked, learned, laughed and exercised - and realized that healthy living can be a real joy!
